My calendar is different than the Gregorian calendar. I'm already into 2024!

The website is done and ready for orders. I'm taking stock of what seeds and supplies I need. In that process, the greenhouse and store rooms get cleaned and organized. That's a relief. They're a mess.

Plants and Stuff in 2024
I guess the biggest change this year is that I'm now taking Apple Pay, Google Pay, and credit cards through Square. I've tested everything, but if you see a glitch, let me know. Your cards are secure. I don't see anything, except that the payment came from Square. I don't allow card info to be saved, either.

I still take Venmo (preferred), checks, PayPal, and cash (also a fave).

I added spinach to the Spring Share and nasturtiums to the Summer Share. Basil now also comes in a 4" pot for people who don't need six plants.

I blew the dust off the stock photos and replaced many of them with my own and one of Kevin's. You may not notice, but it makes me feel better.
|
Other big news is that I have a new category called Cacti and Succulents. You've probably already heard the story of the Cereus repandus, aka Peruvian Apple Cactus started from seed last spring. Well, we've acquired more plants that I put on the website. And rest assured, there are more in the propagating chamber that will be available in the spring.

Our cacti and succulents make great gifts, too! They can be picked up anytime after November 23. They don't need repotting. Just put the pot into a decorative container, and you have a thoughtful present any time of year.

CSA Shares for 2024
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Customers pre-order their plants and seeds providing upfront capital and becoming an interest-free lender for the farmer.
|
"Give me money and I'll give you plants and seeds," is more cost effective and community oriented than "Give me money, and you can charge me outrageous interest." There are elements of trust and risk involved, but on the whole, it's a win/win that builds community. I'm proud to say I personally know every single one of my customers because of this business model.

Spring Shares include broccoli, cabbage, Swiss chard, cool weather lettuces, kale, green onions, and spinach starts. Renee's Garden Seed Packet Bundle has carrots, beets, arugula, snow peas, sweet peas, and radishes for direct seeding. Deadline for ordering is March 15.

Summer Shares include tomatoes, peppers, basil, warm weather lettuces, zucchini, yellow squash, winter squash, cucumbers, eggplant, and lots of flowers. You can also order Swiss chard, kale, and cabbage for summer planting. The Seed Packet Bundle has bush beans and sunflowers to direct seed. Deadline for ordering is April 15.
